Corinthians youth team have been in the news for a lot of good reasons of recent.
Their Under-16 boys team won the Joma/Sportsgear Direct Cup and were received by a large crowd in O’Shea Park. This was a dominant performance from Corinthians, with man of the match Rory Doyle playing a huge role in the centre of midfield, showing incredible ability to pick out a pass. Goal-scoring machine Beineon O’Brien Whitmarsh and impressive ‘keeper Alan Kelleher to the mix and this Corinthians side are a forced to be reckoned with.
During the encounter, both sides opted for different styles of play. As Corinthians tried to build from the back, Midleton played more direct football, with Dale Holland up front being the target man, who looked. Beineon O’Brien Whitmarsh opened the scoring after twenty minutes when Mark Cronin broke from the defense and played a perfectly weighted ball behind Midleton’s back line.
