The 31-year-old is in the final year of his contract and there have been speculations regarding his future. It had been anticipated that he is most likely in the twilight of his career with Chelsea reluctant to sanction a new long-term deal.

Willian who recently took the number 10 shirt after the departure of Eden Hazard in the summer has been a key feature under new manager Frank Lampard. He is currently one of the oldest members of the first team alongside Ceasar Azpilicueta.
