Corinthians ended 2014 on Winning Note
The Brazilian club Corinthians ended the year 2014 on a positive note as they clinched a 2-1 victory over Criciuma in their last league match of the previous year. The start of 2015 was even better as Corinthians claimed a very convincing 4-0 triumph against Once Caldas in the Copa Libertadores.
However, not everything went successfully good for the Brazilian side as the club reported a loss of €29.8 million during 2014.
Corinthians had a fairly good previous season as they claimed the 4th spot in their league and managed to reach the quarter-final stages of the cup. It wasn’t a memorable or outstanding season for the Brazilian side but it wasn’t a disastrous one either, it was simply good enough for the team to stay in the top spots of the Brazilian league.
One of the main reasons on why the club experienced such a big deficit was due to the construction of the stadium as the club had to the club having to amortize the arrears incurred by the administration under of Andres Sanchez. The club also paid about €16.5 million to government tax collection agency Refis. Continue reading “Corinthians ended 2014 on Winning Note”

Corinthians considered to be Best Brazilian Club
Corinthians is considered to be the biggest or most prestigious club in Brazil after having won the Brazilian League a total of 27 times, they are the leaders on having it collected most times. Managing a club of this level is not an easy task to accomplish as the pressure that originates from being in charge of such a high profile club is very demanding and this can be evidenced by the fact that Mario Menezes decided to resign from his managerial position in the Brazilian side.
It remains unsure as to what exactly was the reason on why Menezes stepped down from coaching Corinthians but the former coach of Brazil did reveal details concerning the situation as he said that he feels like he has accomplished his duty after having qualified Corinthians to the Libertadores Cup of next year and also securing the 4th spot in Brazil’s top tier league.

PAULINHO TO MOVE?
Speculation has increased surrounding the future of Brazilian midfielder Paulinho, who has had very little game time at Tottenham this season. It has been increasingly speculated that manager Mauricio Pochettino, who came to the club only in the summer, does not see Paulinho as part of his plans. Former manager Andre Villas-Boas played a key role in bringing the Brazilian to White Hart Lane. Unsurprisingly, Paulinho was a regular first-team player in his first season at the club after having cost £ 16 million. He found his importance within the team reduced after the arrival of Tim Sherwood as the replacement for Villas-Boas.
This season, though, it has been shocking to see the midfielder utilised for just 29 minutes in the Premier League so far. He has featured in two Europa League matches, which is widely seen as the platform for Tottenham reserve players to make a name for themselves. Rejecting any speculation of a fallout with Paulinho, Pochettino says that the midfielder is not featuring only because of the World Cup hangover. The 26-year-old was part of the Brazilian team that suffered an embarrassing exit at the World Cup 2014. The lack of regular game time has led to Paulinho being linked with a return to his former club Corinthians.
“No, no Tottenham player, including Paulinho, will be loaned to Brazil. There is no chance. Paulinho arrived late, one of the last players to join the squad after the World Cup. There isn’t any problem. He is training and doing well, it’s just a technical decision,” said the Spurs manager. The fact that Tottenham are struggling for consistency in results especially in the league could force Pochettino to take a look at including Paulinho in the team much earlier than expected. Tottenham have won just three games in the league so far this season.
