Brazilian football giants Corinthians have confirmed the appointment of a new manager until the end of next year. Corinthians have secured the return of Brazilian tactician Sylvinhoto the club as the new manager and the 47-year-old has signed a deal that will take him at the club until the end of 2022.
The new Corinthians manager took on the role of a technical assistant with the BrazilianSerie A team in 2016 having previously occupied the same position at the club. Sylvinho has been without a club since his contract with French Ligue 1 giants Lyon was terminated two years ago.
Sylvinho has signed an 18-month deal at Corinthians until the end of next year as pointed out earlier.
Apart from Corinthians and Lyon, Sylvinho also worked as a assistant at Brazilian teams Cruzeiro and Sport. The retired footballer met Vagner Mancini during his time at Sport and he replaces the same man at Corinthians.
Mancini was relieved of his duties as the Corinthians manager after he masterminded how his team was knocked out in the Campeonato Paulistao earlier this year.
Doriva has also been named as the assistant to Sylvinho at Corinthians who will start the new Brazilian Championship with an home game against Atletico-GO. It would be interesting to see how far Sylvinho can take his former team especially after his last job at Lyon. He was sacked after some months in the job.
